Hi,

I am hoping that I'm not reinventing the wheel and someone could point me to forum posts where my basic questions have been answered too many times...well i hope :D

I am working towards mounting a truck cab on my 1978 SWB series 3 and despite googling my heart out i cannot seem to answer the following questions, so hopefully the brains trust of AULRO can help :D

- Do I need rubber bushing part number 330784? Shown on the attached parts list (I cannot find the master document for this, some ebay seller emailed this to me.)
Are these the same as Rubber Buffer for Seat Back (part no. 304125)

-Do I need a mounting rail with spacer tubes? the part that is currently mounted in my car does not have them but the part which came with my truck cab does have them. I am assuming that the rubber bushing seat in the tubes but I cannot find any information. The photo below is from ebay and shows the spacer tubes:

- Is the Bailey channel rubber 350.360 from Old Auto Rubber (Spectrum Rubber) compatible with my channels or would the UES bailey channel be a better option?

These are links to where these products are discussed:

Thanks in advance!

The "rubber bushing" 330784 is actually a steel tube or spacer that the pictured rail has welded to it - whether you need it depends on whether you get the rail with or without the spacers welded onto it. There is no rubber "mounting" for the cab, only a rubber seal.

Can't help with the bailey channel - I just ordered some from All four x 4, telling them what it was for. But that was years ago.

Thanks JDNSW i can swap out the mounting rail so that solves the bushing issue and the channel i ordered from totalparts.co.uk are complete with weather seals/ bailey channels so that's a win!

cheers for your help!

Hi Henry,

Just put my cab back on now its getting a bit chilly. As said the part you mention is a solid tube welded to the bracket you seem to have. All you need is a 1/2 bolt and some sturdy washers.

Thew only rubber required was the seal part# HA4793307... link to paddocks

Truck cab seal - cab to base to HA479307 - Paddock Spares (http://www.paddockspares.com/333486-truck-cab-seal-cab-to-base-to-ha479307.html)

The old one on mine was rock hard and had to be chiseled out. With such the new one should drift in, don't use sealant to put it in the cab underside unless you really have to. An assistant on the day makes the job a whole heap easier.

cheers
