Hi all
With my youngest son we have started the restoration of our second vehicle - a series 2a SWB called Clarkson. (We have all probably watched too much Top Gear).
The plan is to do a full nut and bolt restoration. The panels have a nice patina and are very straight. Lots of rust in the fire wall and chassis but I have rust free replacements for both. It doesn't run and we will have to rebuild the engine, gearbox and axels.
We learnt lots doing our first vehicle and are looking forward to knowing a few tricks this time. This time I will look to import less parts and only buy parts when we know what we actually need. However the biggest learning was probably - "there are no quick wins restoring a Land Rover". Still that is the fun.
Cheers
Angus
