Well I sat with the second in charge of my unit yesterday while he fired off all of the alternate vehicles we could use to replace the Prado with.... wanted us to go with a Ford territory for gods sake!
I nearly got stuck on the why dont you get a Toyota Landcruiser Troopy?
But in in the end he left the decision up to me, and asked me if I could honestly say that i have given thought to every option.... the answer was yes... so its all cleared then, we should have a Disco 3 v6S in a couple of months

Well its been a while - there was a hold up with the cargo barrier - LRA had to have one made then have it approved by Land Rover UK - so now i believe we have one of the first or the first D3 with a cargo barrier in OZ!
Well we dont have it yet - but its soon to be delivered - oh and someone mucked up somewhere and ordered the SE model - Buckingham blue with Beige Leather trim!!!!!!
WOOOOOO HOOOOOOO I cant wait -
No i have to get some loadspace drawers made up for it in sydney - well not drawers more like a shelf with a pull out drawer under it - that we can put a large ( foot locker size) space case on - also have to fit two breathing Apparatus sets (BA) and three large ( 1.2m long ) kit bags, three or four small space cases, fold up table, two fold up camp chairs , emergency eye wash station, - any suggestions anyone ?

There is only one place I would suggest http://www.consoles.com/index.htm
They did my roof console for the rangie. Top job too just be sure to flash the silverware for a discount

I saw some really good commercial drawers recently in a van - fully cantilevered so they could come all the way out. These were heavy duty stuff but I can't recall the name.
Perhaps Black Widow might be able to help? See http://www.blackwidow4wdstorage.com/MakesModels/Copy%20(2)%20of%20100Series.html
But this includes a cargo barrier.

Go and talk to the guys that build ambulances and rescue trailers in your state. They should be able to assist. If not try one of the firms that make tradesmans ute body's etc.
Only 2 BA?? We have to carry aminimum of 4, prferablly 6 to allow for 2 in, 2 on standby. I have just ordered 2 custom ER trailers for site and they a pretty specy Paull & Warner items (WA ambo manufacturer).

It's a LR design made locally by a major aftermarket 4x4 company & it looks like it's all fitted now.

I'd also talk to Discoute (http://www.brotherscustomshop.com) here about a special heavy duty front and rear winch bar for it ;)

Hi Mick, it seems persistence has paid off in the end. Is it the V6 Petrol or the TDV6 you are getting? Matt

Mick well done
obviously a small units skulking budget can afford the likes of a new disco.
Now watch the techs ruin it with the add ons.
My old workmates at the doggies, are fighting to get rid of those gas powered falcons some genius at the vehicle section got for them. I might suggest they go for discos instead of rodeos.
