hi all
anyone got a good place they use for insurance, i need to get the 90 covered, i spoke with nrma and as its an imported 90 the price kept going up and the level of cover down, not very impressed with them despite our other two cars being insured with them
let me know your thoughts
cheers ian

TCIS - Specific 4x4 insurance but you have to be a member of an affiliated club. Insured anywhere in Australia though, on and off road and they give agreed value and can cover euipment and camper trailers etc. My premium is pretty much exactly what I was paying thorugh Suncorp.

Had a great experience with AAMI last year. Dunked my Jeep in a creek on Bribie Island and the repairs were going to be expensive so the wrote it off and gave me nearly four grand more than I had paid for 10 months earlier as the agreed value was quite high. The market value had dropped about 5 or 6000 so I came out about 9 grand ahead, had it been on market value alone. That how I could afford my 01 Rangie. The agreed value on that is about 8000 more than what I paid for it.

I think that the insurance companies are a bit behind on car prices since fuel has been so high of late. Big engined 4wd's have lost a lot of money over the past year and the insurance companies haven't caught up yet.

I just had a quote...they were a little more than AAMI but with $1,000 worth of camping gear included. The Bush track 4wd policy is comprehensive.

I am Insured with QBE, NRMA was nearly twice as much. TCIS was dearer again. Just ring all of them Muddy and take the cheapest, thats all you can do. Matt

I am using Shannons on the '87 Hiline. Premium was pretty good (about half what my broker could find insurance for) and they say that they will cover the vehicle where ever it is. Mind you, I haven't made any claims yet...

Just a quick one,

DON'T EVER BUY INSURANCE ON PRICE.....
To use a dicky quote "The joy of a cheap price is long forgotten by the bitterness of poor quality"

If the policy is cheaper AND and has what you want - go for it!

Make sure the policy has what YOU want and NEED. i.e. offroad cover, on private property as well, etc., vehicle contents cover, etc....

A policy and what you pay for it are irrelevant if it doesn't cover you or they won't pay out. I'm sure a few folks on here have foudn that out https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

Choice of repairer, insured for market value ($13000) on a vehicle that I paid $6000 for. I am pretty happy thus far.
