I have a 65ah deep cycle located near the turbo that’s on the way out. I’m using an optima red top as a starter battery. The battery place said that I can swap the starting battery and the deep cycle over, saying that the red top is resistant to higher temps. This will give me a larger space to fit a 130ah deep cycle. I’m going to fit a heat shield around the red top. I have the 7 seat model with SLS installed so the other 2 battery spots are out.

My question is: what size cables do I need to go from the starter/alternator/fuse box so I get as little voltage drop as possible? I was thinking O gauge?

I have separate oo AFAIR to the starter and 2 to the fuse box.
I also have earths to both the engine and body.
No problems .

IMO at those lenghts anything above the std gauge for these kind of applications is wasted money and harder to work with cos the difference in voltage drop is neglectable. The standard gauge was well enough calculated by the vehicle's builder, and that's 40mm2 CSA(#1.5 AWG)

This voltage drop calculator may help. It also uses the language of cross sectional area mm2. Gauge is not used by professionals.
