Hi All,

On my 1971 wide light 109 ex-army GS, I have 11 leaves on right front spring and 9 leaves on left front spring.

I can't imagine that's normal, has anyone seen this before ?

Thanks
John

I cannot comment on the number of leaves but traditionally LR springs are right or left biased - the drivers side springs are slight heavier than the passenger side due to the fact that vehicles gnerally only have one person - the driver.

After market springs tend not to worry about this but OEM springs will be stronger on the driver side - but not sure if these means extra leaves or what.

They should be the same, the 'set' in them was different between driver & passenger side.
Sounds like one has been changed at some point in it's life......

These are from my IIa GS

On my 109, I had the same! 11 on drivers side, 9 on other side. Rear springs have same number of springs but the main spring is thicker on drivers side.

Not a military thing IIRC.
