Looking at silicon intake hoses for the D2 (10P - Td5), wondering if anyone has tried any of these? Some difference in prices, but the quality is what I'm after.

And, since there is some play in the turbo shaft, considering this as well. Would prefer to buy from an Aus supplier, but they seem to be a bit thin on the ground!

The red ones make it go faster, I think it's the red ones. Or is it the orange ones?

orange is a hard to sell colour, green also, blue is the most popular colour with buyers

I’m not keen on blue or any colour in fact - actually I’d buy black or BRG (british racing green) off you if you’d stock them Mario...

LOL[bigrolf] You know I had lots of stock of black ones thinking that it gave the engine bay a matching O.E hose look, but I found that not to be the case. I cleared them all out. All the punters asked for blue and only wanted blue, the theory I had was they wanted something to bling the engine bay so when they opened the bonnet it drew spectators to the new addition 'Blue', if they were black they would not have been able to show them off.
Suppliers are also not really stocking black either as blue is the go.

I like and wanted black but you Mario only had blue so blue it was [bighmmm]
Really at the end of the day the colour means nothing as they still do the exact same job[wink11]

X2 on that ...... and earlier this year i needed a new heater hose and as an interim measure until i purchased a new stock hose from mario i used a surplus length of blue silicone hose from my sons workplace but the sight of the foreign coloured hose jarred me every time i lifted the bonnet[emoji37]

..... the new stock hose goes on and is great for 2 weeks and then coolant is visible weeping out via the reinforcing fabric [emoji35] now its actively dripping so the hose has failed. Can’t trust modern rubber automotive hoses any more. So black silicon for me asap.

Pattern part or Genuine hose that’s played up?
It was a pattern part .....

It was a pattern part .....
I had high hopes for my DIY silicone hose but it was just too bulky to manouver into place and get the ends onto the barbs .... it didn’t help that i could not get the bends close enough to the hose ends and also have enough room for the clamps. In the end i took the springs off and just had the hose running across the rocker cover for a week or two until fitting the stock hose.

Not surprised a pattern part failed.
Be wary too, LR update hoses over time as problems (rubbing etc) are found. Pattern parts often don’t.

The Turbo Rebuild cartridge is a great bit of kit. I recently fitted one and I’m suitably impressed with the performance gain. They will still honour the Aulro group buy discount code as well if you ask them.
