I have a REALLY annoying rattle in he dash of my D2. Near as I can figure, it's in behind the binacle. I've cable tied everything else other than this area so it really MUST be there and yet I can't find how to get in there. PLEASE tell me that the whole dash DOESN'T need to come out

I have a rattle on the pass side of my D2 behind the air bag... i am too afraid to touch it... have you tried to get to the rattle from under the steering column?

I had a similar rattle in my TD5 DII. It turned out to be the retaining bolt on the engine cover. LR had a note out on this some time ago. I just added a couple of washers under the bolt head to each mount and it was cured.
This of course may not be your problem, but I would look anyway. They actually sound like its from the dash. Mine sounded more behind the radio.
