Thanks Mate for that, wasnt sure what the go was. And your right, by the sounds of it I am glad I dont have to vote over there, you'd have to be bloody keen 8O . Packing havent started, shopping will do Thursday, and if I get home in time this arvo after picking up my brats in Brissie, getting back to Bruce Lyntons to get my car from service and then finally home, will be putting up the tent. Had a heart attack when I looked at all the poles and instructions. Though Im sure will figure out with perhaps some help from my fellow 4by peeps  ,

Its half the fun with the kids (putting up the tent). If I have one suggestion it would be take your time over a beer or 2 putting it up.

Taaaa daaaaa, I got the tent up with a little help from True ( my 9 yr old), thanks for the call Bolts. And even though I just read your message Noz, I must have read your mind as it took quite a few brews and some hushed colourful language under my breath  . Cuppla mistakes, couldnt get the tarp up, but will know what to do on Friday. Have now hosed it over for waterproofing and now even more eager,

Well done Stevo, amazing what a couple of beers can do https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ Just think by the end of Frazer you will be an old hand at this camping https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

If anyone counting only 2 days to go or 1 & 1/2 sleeps as for us leaving from the coast will be a 3:00am call, 8) not that I'm counting or anything just thought I would pass on that happy info.

See those of the Gold Coast convoy@4:45am Friday https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ (gee is this day slow or just me https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ )

Its not the putting the rod together but more catching the fish. So when I go home I have a reason why there is no fish for the freezer. Mind you that wholesales fish market could be looking good if empty handed on way home.

Dont worry I will pack your gear at the back of trailer then "forget" to lock it between coomera and brissie. 8O

Catch you later

Apparently the fishing is really good and should be moreso because of the weather conditions. Heres hoping as I wouldnt mind catching a feed of fish.

Fishing? what fishing?????
ok, what are we talking about - beach or rock???
what kind of tackle are you taking? i have packed my rod but was wondering about my 12ft surf rod? (it is a bit heavy) (to hold that is!) what bait were you planning to use - are there pipi's there???
lotsa questions, but i would'nt mind catching a few myself....

a 12ft rod is fine.

rock fishing at indian heads, rest is fishing in gutters in the surf.

as for bait, depends what you want to fish for.
i have found that-
whiting and dart take worms or pippies from the beach
tailor and flathead take pillies or mullet fillets
tailor dart and bream take whitebait

[/b][/quote] Mate not that i have ever been to Fraser, but I would assume it would be beach fishing therefore would be dependant on the rod you are taking. I am packing 3 standard rods for the children and myself. I have a fair bit of tackle, including the star sinkers which is good dependant on the surf conditions. Bait once again I will assume there will be a place to get it before we head onto the island and they are usually a good source for the best type. 1 MORE SLEEP TO GO,

Also ONLY HALF A SLEEP TO GO, https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ The guys on the coast will be a 3am start. https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ Also Frazer is surf fishing so I would suggest surf rods. Aparantly the fishing is really good as the sun is coming up so 5:00 - 5:30am start.

Does anyone know if we are allowed camp fires for the sand flies on Frazer :?: I know on Rainbow beach camping you are, not sure about Frazer :!: Do know that sand flies, even with replant are nasty, camp fire really seems to help https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ also great for a couple of cold cans and 4x4 "war stories" or"my ding tally better than yours". https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

Hey maybe I can have a ding tally count this trip unlike my last, "thanks Mick G and Outlaw   "
