I think this theory is on the money. A lonely death.
Dozens heard Amelia Earhart’s final, chilling pleas for help, researchers say (https://www.msn.com/en-au/news/world/dozens-heard-amelia-earhart’s-final-chilling-pleas-for-help-researchers-say/ar-BBL4gQp?ocid=spartandhp)

This hoary old chestnut keeps surfacing (no pun intended), doesn't it?
She ran out of fuel and probably crashed in the drink because she and Noonan were ill prepared for the transoceanic legs of the flight and could not find their refuelling spot which was Howland Island.
On the TransAtlantic leg, they found Africa alright (it's big) but they could not work out where they were and landed some distance from where they had planned.
Anything put out by Fox news (Disney) and/or Tighar is sus in my view Bob :)
For anyone interested there is a current extensive podcast series from chasingearhart (https://www.chasingearhart.com) .
Also there is theory from Dave Billings that Australian troops actually found her wreck in New Britain in WW2
David Billings | Amelia Earhart: The Truth at Last (https://earharttruth.wordpress.com/tag/david-billings/)
... this has at least as good a chance of being correct as any of the other theories.
