Gday All,

well picked up the Rangie and was impressed with it on the drive from the old owners place to our shed. The V8 was a lot better than I expected and the 5sp was smooth thru the changes, everything bar a couple things work so that's even better. The sunroof still worked [thumbsupbig]

So a couple of questions if I could , I have searched but lots of varying answers.

Tyres 205r16 ? this is new to me , not sure on the profile.

rear windows don't work but the motors are ok - known issue ??

other than the roof lining , a good service and cut and polish the old girl is in pretty good nick [biggrin][biggrin][biggrin]

Cheers Ean

Noice.

Oh, and Ean, you knows the rules!

BTW, the original tyres were 205R/16.
I think the aspect ratio was around the 78-80% mark.

I've discovered a couple of classics mouldering away under ripped tarps only about 5km away from me on a Macadamia farm.
I have no idea how far gone they are.

Anyway Ean, [emoji991] [emoji38]

Oh, and Ean, you knows the rules!

But the silly old duffer doesn't know how to post pics [biggrin].

So Ean that is your first job before you pic up the RRC (you know the rules you haven't picked it up yet as there are no pcs) is to sort out your pic posting abilities. [bigsmile1]

Good luck with that [bigrolf]

Regarding the windows - If you're getting power to the motors and the motors work, the mechanisms will all be gunked up and probably the motor gearboxes too. I cleaned all the runners, motor gearboxes and lube the slides up with some silicon spray on mine which took them from very slow/stopped to all working fine.

And yes, where are the pics? 😉

Ok
When posting look at the helpful help bar above what your posting and look for the paper clip (ATTACHMENTS) File upload Manager [wink11]
(Add Files) in a box to the right and clicky[thumbsupbig]

I don’t use AULRO or hosting Flickr etc sites. I find easiest way is using tapatalk when you are viewing AULRO and add or create a new subject/ reply and tick the attachments it links direct to original photo which gets uploaded. I’ve given up on actual AULRO as it requires small file size or links to 3rd party file sharing.

And now the piccies are all goooone........ [bigsad]

Seriously, using "manage attachments" isn't that hard. Open the dialogue box, click on "add files" then "browse" and look for the picture on your computer. Once you've done that just click "upload". Once that's done, down the bottom corner of the dialogue box is "insert inline" or "done", either will result in a photo hanging off your post.

And once you've uploaded the photos as attachments you can click on them and insert them in your post in the normal way by editing the post.

Every single Pic that I've uploaded to AULRO in 16 odd years---

is still here.[smilebigeye]

unlike my PC,, thats dissolved my pics several times.[bighmmm]

Pics uploaded to "Your Gallery" are stored with the same importance as all AULRO post/files.

If you have Pics of your Favourite Landrover that you might want to refer to in ten years or so,,
you could do a LOT worse than add it to YOUR Gallery,, [wink11]

Baggy

1990 ,plate says 11/89 so I will claim 1990.

Im happy with what I have seen , just been used as a farm hack so needs a good clean up , seems rust free from what I have seen so far. The only thing left to come out from the interior is the roof lining and the dash. I think the dash can stay but the roof lining is in a bad saggy way. Other than a bucket full of hay and a few mummified locast's the interior is in good nic.

Very happy for what I paid.
