Smiths seafood on the Princes Hwy just before Tom Uglys bridge, you can walk or drive under the bridge.
Or go to Maroubra Beach, good Pie shop there too https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

Smiths is one of THE BEST in Australia!!!! You'll be hard up to get better
They used to have one at Brighton - near the corner and the RSL, but I saw when I was down, it's not a Smiths anymore.

Sometomes, but they're pretty organised & swift at getting through the crowds, you never have to wait too long.
My sister lives around the corner, we go there a bit. The outside area (BYO https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ ) is great too.

Dullbird, jump in the 4x4 and go to Panania. These a few fish & chip type shops there or once you get to Panania, head east up the main drag towards Revesby. About half way there you come to a roundabout and the 2 or three more there.
Once you have them, drive back to East Hills and go to the park on George's River, on the Picnic Point side of East Hills railway station.
That about as close to home as you can get.
You could always drive down to Lugarno, there use to be a shop there beside the river, but I don’t know if it’s still there.
If you don’t mind a bit of a drive then go down to Austinmer on the old coast road. You can use the new viaduct at Coal Cliff.
At Austinmer, go to Anns Cafe. You can get anything from fish & chips to one of the best servings of Garlic Prawns.
Grab them and walk across the road to one of the best beaches on the South Coast.
Great place on a hot summers night.
