Hi folks.
I have my Nanocom permanently set up in the cars.
I have the diagram for allowing the Evo to automatically switch on with the ignition (as hopefully attached), but no instructions on how it is connected up to what and where.
Before I try the BBS site, has anyone done the exercise?

Yep, I know that, but looking to go to the next step.

I can't find any logic in that setup, splicing into the OBD cable and using a toggle switch and a relay instead of touching the screen?

Well, it sounds like you have at least in part answered my question ie splicing into the OBDII cable. For the lazy ones amongst us, it means the Evo turns on automatically with the ignition, which I kind of like, as long as I can over-ride it for those occasions when fiddling with ignition on/off.
Then all I have to do is manually turn on the TomTom, or get a later version which does this automatically with ignition on!

IMO you'll still have to cut the feed through that toggle switch with that setup if you leave the vehicle otherwise nanocom will stay powered with ignition on then switch it back again and all that hassle just to save yourself from touching the screen which doesnt seem a good deal to me

I'm of the understanding that under this scenario, the Evo will turn off when ignition is turned off, and turn on/light up screen when ignition is turned on.
If I have to add a toggle switch for the odd occasion when I want ignition on (or cycling on and off) but not the Evo on, then so be it.
Each to their own I say. [wink11]

Good luck with it and let us know the outcome if you do it cos i might miss something but as i see the scheme that setup's main purpose is to save you from disconnecting the plug to reset the connection by working with the toggle switch instead cos with nanocom for example if it's not set to touch screen reactivation maybe it will power up on ignition but will not comunicate with the ECU if the data link was not interrupted... time will tell
