G'day folks,
Does anyone know of anyone in Australia who does rock sliders for S2 88 ? I can import them from Roversnorth, or various UK / US suppliers but due to their weight they will cost a bomb to freight. Has anyone locally manufactured them ? I'm thinking of going to fabrication shop and just getting a quote for 3/16" steel plate, galvanised to be made, and I'm happy to take recommendations for a good shop Adelaide, Sydney or Melbourne based

Cheers

I am planning on making my own sliders that sit where the lower sill panel is (under doors). Planning on running glav rhs and these are not hard to make if you have a grinder and welder (and inclination). I did a set for my old RRC and they turned out really well. Here is an example of what I am planning on making (https://cdn.bringatrailer.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/1960-Land-Rover-SII-88-Front1-940x636.jpg).

G'day Carlos,
Thats exactly what I mean. I'm just not sure where'd they attach to, I've seen aftermarket version that seem to bolt into the chassis. Which doesn't really line up with how the sill panels attach. It's a while down the track but I like to get my ducks in a row.

P.S Thanks for the headsup on the suspension bushes, seriously made my life easy.

Cheers
Kim

G'day Carlos,
I found this the other day, I know you've made them before but I thought it might help.

I'm assuming (somewhat blindly I'll grant you) that this is allowed.

Interesting set up, but not what i have in mind. These are very well made of course. Like you, not an urgent think for me either so will make something up once the series is finished. Im also planning on making a roof rack that is similar to the oem ones :)

I'm looking forward to seeing the roof racks, I'm hoping to get a better idea of what I want to do with the rock sliders in the upcoming weeks, although at this stage it's still just an idea. I think local manufacture vs purchased (because of freight) is the way to go. Great video on the brake lines as well mate. Really well produced and thorough, I liked the slow and steady wins the race ethos.
