Hi guys,

Looking to replace my R380 and LT230 in my 300TDi defender.

Are there any local alternatives to Ashcroft? Or am i best just to use them.

Nothing wrong per say with my current boxes, just looking to future proof it for travels down the track (365k on my defender).

Anyone done the same before? Any idea on shipping costs and how the core deposit? works.

Thanks in advance,
Dan

brother in law had his 300 disco overhauled by award transmissions at seven hills nsw. still nice to drive. last quote was around $1300 for a rerace/reshim plus instal remove costs. Other bits extra

Dunno about the R380, but the LT230 I got changed over from 4WD Industries(Maitland) is still going nice.(near on 60K klms now). They give a 20K klms warranty if they or their preferred fitters do the install too.

No leaks as they do the resleeve mod on the intermediate shaft. A little slack in the diff, but you expect that from std LR parts.

So that's the only bit I'm now regretting, not fitting an ATB centre diff as an option.
