got new plates when it was re-registered.. long story....

the only place the tyres have rubbed is only just on the front
radius arms.(wound stops out 3mm)
and just abit at the top of the rear tub/wheel arch theres ribs
under there. extended bump stops will fix this.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'>was wondering the same ,almost suspect a little bit of wishful thinking maybe, with all the checker plate, and the side steps look different, either that or someone has been VERY busy, and has a good relationship with the bank manager
dont quite get ya thinking ferno???
all pic's are the same car, and i made all the chequer plate( cept the wingtops)

i was going to take the steps off,,, but i need them to get in

PCH it just fits in the garage, by 2''. floor to car roof 2050mm,
to top of basket 2250mm. thank god for big garages.

Just a quick question, what size tyres are they, and would they fit before the lift. I am currently looking for some mud tyres to go on a set of steel disco 1 rims.

Thanks,
Ken

Bilstein heavy-duty shocks (I'll look the p/n up later)
Heavy-duty King springs with a slight lift. The car is 50mm higher all round due to the lift and the fact the coils are stiffer.

Of the four hours two were spent on the first front one! Realised we didn't need to unbolt the cone-shaped shock mount, messing around with the jacks. And discovering just how fantastic ratchet spanners can be. The back is a lot simpler but needs the axle dropped down a fair way because there are guidance flanges on the top coil mount.

Quite dissapointed in Bilstein's "instructions", they should have been a lot clearer about which washer goes where. But we figured it out.

The front coils are handed but the rears were not.

Replaced the standard LR suspension which after exactly two years and 73,000km was worn. The shocks could be compressed by hand by the new ones could not.

Offroad today to see how it goes.

robert, you can do that to new LR shocks, they arnt gas shocks.
you cant compress the billy's cos they are high pressure nitrogen.
do you like the LC100 look??? ide be putting some spacers under the
front springs to get her level.

and 90mm bumpstop height allround

now guard height is 670mm all round and BS height is 150mm rear
and 140mm frnt.

might as well give you std springs and shocks.
frnt RNB103710 (LR #) 550ext 330comp 220stroke
rear RPD102390 530ext 340comp 190stroke.

NRC9463 D90 HD Rear passenger side 376mm free 210/240lb green/yellow/white

the rear is almost spot on, just need 20mm taller bumpstop.
and the front i need the raise the towers by 50mm.
the thing i found out with the 90 is i dont have to extend the brake or
abs lines. at full (forced) articulation the lines still have slack in them.
i cant say that for the chassis bushes. their next to mod!

check out the pics here.

I like the "LC100 look" with the back higher than the front. Once I get the usual weight into it -- spade/axe carrier, recovery gear, tirfor, tools then it'll level out a touch and I want it level if not slightly higher when we're in full-scale longrange camping mode because at that point there is LOT of weight to be carried. That means it needs to ride higher when unloaded, which is how it was when it was pictured.

Part numbers:

Shocks
F4-BE5-6529-HO
F4-BE5-6540-HO

Coils
KLRR-05
KLFR-03

Sorry I didn't check which of those are front or rear.

Tested it well and truly today and got to say it's an improvement on any surface. Very pleased.

How do you find the silverstones, on and off road?

Guys -- they both really good.

This is probably more relevant to Phil's lift, but what are you planning in terms of castor correction?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'>This is probably more relevant to Phil's lift, but what are you planning in terms of castor correction?
i was talking to marcel about this and he reckons i dont need
any correction. and honestly the steering is the same as b4 the lift.
if and only if i ever need to correct the castor i would
go the slotted swivells.
but she dont wander and pulls up straight so im happy.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'>How do you find the silverstones, on and off road?
apart from being noisy at 60 they will supprise all who get a set.
ive even thrown it around on wet bitumen and they hold well 8O
as for offroad, not yet but soon!

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'>Once I get the usual weight into it --
robert, i thought it might be a weight issue 8) i just have to work out how i can have polyairs and dislocation cones in the same spring!
i have a plan.

Phil

Chasing these up I have a quick question for you.

Procomp p/no system is thus:

1st digit: 3=ES3000, 9=ES9000
2nd-4th digit: shock length extended. example:924500 = 24.5″ length extended.
5th digit: mounting option. 0=loop/loop 1=stem/loop 2=loop/stem 3=stem/stem 4, and there are several more options.
6th digit: hardware included

Example: ES325509 = Es3000, 25.5″ extended, Loop/Loop mounting

So the front shock doesnt add up... ??????

926560 = ES9000 26.5" extended yet 655mm is 25.5" approx.

Can you confirm this is correct?

Cheers
Mike
