Hi Richard,, the car looks great!!
I am amazed how much [in these photos ] the front bar disguises the LR "look" of the D3,,
after close scrutiny 8O
its the missing black corner bits,,
I'm sure it still looks a million dollars in the flesh, as it still does here 8).
tell us how it went!,,,

Glad to see some owners of the D3 using it wisely. Nice one guys. I hope to see some in action first hand at the SEQ gathering. I hate to admit it but I'm liking the D3 more every day.

Gordons' is the one with the winch bar............mine is yet to come
Both Gordon and I agree that the D3 is an extremely competent vehicle, anything we put it up to it did with no fuss whatsoever, any of the big rutted climbs were taken at little more than idle with no slip just grip.
Landy Andy; just enough rain to keep nthe dust down and give a little softness to the clay, Awesome"" was a breeze, in fact we could have driven up.............the dozers have been in.
Unfortunately there has been a lot of tree harvesting so some of the tracks are missing as were 2 campsites.
I'll resend those PM's in the morning........not urgent

fantastic pics !
Looks like it was good fun, I don't know how you kept them looking so clean though.
Did you wash them between photos? https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

I Haven't got any more still shots, but I'm editing the video at the moment - our 13 yr old cameraman was a bit gung-ho with the zoom - and I'll try to post up a few of the clips today or tomorrow https://www.aulro.com/afvb/
I'd have to agree with RichardK - both D3s just walked over everything. It makes the video look tame - in our other beasts, at least there would have been a bit of wheel slip or gunning of the engines to make it interesting ... :?
From this first foray, I'd have to say I'm more than impressed. My twin-lockered D1 (even with the 35" tyres) wouldn't have made it look so easy. It would seem that the computer-controlled lockers and traction control are so much faster (and more accurate) than a human-controlled system, that by only locking, or redistributing power, for that split second (my rear locker never came on for more than 1 sec at a time) traction is just never lost, especially if you fit a set of decent tyres, which Richard and I have both done.
Cheers,
Gordon
