View Full Version : Overlander tripe

I don't know.....

This bloke on Overlander reckons that the guys from LROC (13 vehicles and probably 25 people) were rude to him on Saturday during our trip to Yengo and Wollemi National Parks. I can't believe (knowing the group now) that ANY of us were anything other than decent people to anyone we came across.

Read about it here, and if you know people at, you'll understand that they are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet on the trail.

Well looks like that's going to start a little fun.

Looking at the thread I can see why some members have such high post counts; looks like a permanent 4wd slanging match.

It can be a good forum to lurk in - and at other times it's a childrens' playground.

Unbelievable  My advice - do not lower yourself to this guy's level by engaging in a slagging match, wont do anyone any good.

Gets me pretty fired up though some of those responses

Keep flying the flag, Mick

I agree with Mick. I've spent a lot of time there before, and it's better to ignore than to get sucked in.

Your words can always be twisted around, and it's like talking to a brick wall sometimes!!!

I think that the Land Rover owners' responses have been pretty level so far. No one is going silly. Just stated the facts.

We still don't know what the complaint is even about.

I agree Omaroo and credit where credit is due. Strange how he hasn't mentioned what the alleged "incident" was

Will follow with interest as I'm keen to know what has got his back up. Also agree with cewilson.........

I'm waiting to see if he reappears with some idea of what this incident was supposed to be

I had a read through the posts and concur, the regulars there seem to be just as scornful of his supposed "beef" landy drivers or not, surprise surprise on the non landy drivers. Probably someone ( looks like a newbie) who's just trying stir a pot, ie join in the ol landy bashing. Funny how since he has been politely slammed from all corners he hasnt come back so far with anything?? 8O

Apparently we bagged another vehicle in jest, and his wife took offense

Jeez - you get a bunch of 13 Land Rovers out there in the bush and you have to lock down the ribbing? Sheesh! Get a life fella... or is it your wife that needs one?

Now if that’s not stereotyping, what is? How was I supposed to know that there were a dozen rovers in there trying to turn around? And if it’s stereotyping you want. A few months ago I went to have a look at the Newcastle Rover Club with an interest in joining a club, not necessarily that one, but I went for a look anyway. After I parked nearby, and walked over towards two young males, whom testosterone levels were obviously on a high, standing next to there weapon of choice which was so lifted I could not see into the thing, Stated to me, “Are you thinking of joining the club mate”, before I could answer, under endowed young fella No 2 said as clear as day, “you wont get far in that heap of sxxt”! I did not join the club. And I didnt stereotype anyone in that group of rover individuals, whom most are probably lovely people, I simply asked a question, then made a statement 8O

LOL!!!!! The guy has to be kidding. He was being ribbed in a friendly manner and he posts all of this crap. Sheesh! Get over it brother!

Sorry to waste your time everyone..... excelt you blokes in Newcastle - because you are all rude!! https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

I love it. https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ Some people just have no idea!

We have quite a few "other" vehicles in the Landrover club who often come out on trips and they cop a ribbing non-stop for the trip but they know it is only all fun.

They love to bag Landys, but they get all snooty if they get a bit back! Pansies!

Actually I found the whole thing amusing and non LR responses relatively light hearted (for that place https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ ).

Life really is too short and his missus was having a bad day.

Maybe he is henpecked.

And we shouldn't take it personally. https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

That's for him to work out if he hasn't worked it out already (on two forums 8O )

He's done a lot of back peddling already: resorting to the old "well at least my post count is increasing" ploy. That should assuage his partners angst.

But look at how he is sucking up now he didnt get any sympathy from the other members. He is playing it all off as a joke now.

I reckon if i had a dollar for every newby who jumped on overlander or 4wdmonthly and started stirring **** like this guy has, then to be put in his place and start acting all cool and friendly i would be rich. Matt
