Just ordered a new Discovery 5 for the MY19. The TD6 is now the SD6 with 225kw instead of the current 190kw which was a nice surprise when ordering. Also was very pleased to be reading the forum yesterday and the issues of the 3 zone climate, so managed to get in the 4 zone at the last minute - I had been assuming it was just like the 3 zone in the D4 but clearly not and not clear in the literature.

Congratulations on your purchase! You will still have some time to change the order, I changed the wheels from 19" to 20" (more tyre choice) a month after signing
the paperwork.

Notice that you have to go to the UK configurator site to get the correct info. JLRA still haven't bothered themselves to update the Australian site.
I have that engine in my RRS and love it. Interestingly, this is now one less reason to opt for the RRS over the D5. After my recent roo incident, my wife wanted me to get a roo bar for the RRS, I had to explain that they did not exist, but that a company was in the process of making one for the D5 - one more reason to opt for the D5. So we went to look at a D5 in the dealer lot... as soon as she sat in the 2nd row seat (" that's weird") there was no further thought of going for the D5. So, if they work out how to fix up the 2nd row seats in some mid-life update - eg revert to 'stadium' seating instead of anti-stadium seating - then I will be seriously considering moving from the RRS to the D5 .

Yes no literature in Australia you can get at the moment that confirms the changes, and some of the specs have changed from MY18 too. But seem to have built a nice car.

I have a RRS at the moment, and whilst I love the car it's just not as practical as the Discovery (had a D4 before that) - I sat in the second row seats for a test drive and found them very comfortable. Yes they're different to RRS seats but I actually found them better with leg and head room etc.

What sort of time frame are you looking at for delivery? We have been looking at the Discovery for the higher payload but with the SD6 motor you lose another 75kg approx. So makes it a fine line for GVM/GCM.

Should be here late December for an early Jan collection. Another dealer was saying March though for new orders, so perhaps it depends on what slots the dealers have booked in already (not entirely sure how it works).
