Hello folks,
Can someone with a tape measure and some time please help me with some measurements?
A. Distance from reference to seat belt mount screw hole.
B. Distance from reference to edge of bottom bracket. The bracket, not the mounting hole.
C. Distance from reference to load area tie-down screw hole.
I've been posting this to different Defender forums hoping for a response...I hope you can forgive me hunting around for an answer...I have been looking for this info for a very long time, as we have no Puma Defenders in the states....

Just a thought... Is the reference point accurate?

If anyone can measure the distance for me, then they can choose their own reference...as long as the reference is consistent and they define what the reference is! :)

I think in the USA they could only get Defenders between 1993 and 1997, and then some kind of import bans were imposed. I remember seeing a video of a very nice 110 that had been seized and was being crushed by heavy machinery (what a waste).
I don't know the full details about the bans.

Thanks Noyakfat .. interesting.. but they are asking for the dimensions for a Puma
Anyway - badly worded question on my part - I want to know why the OP was after the dimensions (given they don't own one and cant buy one)

WallyB: Please PM me and I will answer all of your questions in excruciating detail :)
Hopefully some nice person here can take a tape measure to their truck to verify the measurements. Since mounting the seats involves cutting, I'd like to measure twice, cut once :)

Now I am intrigued!
Sadly I cant help as I have a LWB. However... If my memory serves me correctly (im at work and the car is at home)...
If you stick you head under the car, in the wheel well, you should see that the captive mounting nuts are installed by default. You should be able to drill a pilot up up from underneath (through the nut). Then enlarge the hole from the top to allow the bolt through.

Hey sorry frogg. I’ve been battling some defender demons of my own. I’ll have a crack tomorrow.

Frogg. In your first pic, Is the purple dotted line just the vertical edge of the rear cross member?

C= 223mm & B=397mm
I’ll measure A shortly. Was getting attacked by mosquitoes.

Ok the last one (A) is a real pain with rear folding seats. I can’t get a clear line from the seat belt mounting bolt.
There is a small black rectangular plate in the right rear corner on top of the wheel arch. I measured 230mm from the front edge of the plate to the centre of the seat post bolt. Does that help? I’ll try and have another crack tomorrow.

Works for me, Sizl - thanks again and I very much appreciate the measurements! I've also forgotten that it's summer out there and probably quite hot...
It is interesting...another kind fellow from another board has measured ( B ) at 440mm...The (C) measurement, however, is identical to yours.
I'm starting to wonder that maybe there is some variation on the location of the seats between trucks?

Curious. Measured mine again. Definitely 397 for B. 440 is closer to the next edge on the bracket (435). I checked the other side of the truck and also measures 397

90 vs 110 variance perhaps?
What variant did you measure?

ahoy....the other 440mm measurement is from a 90/Ninety - Puma XS 2.4, 2009.
Land Rovers, always keeping owners on their toes [bigsmile1]
But honestly, now that I look at some other images from the other source...I'm starting to doubt the 440mm measurement....I'm going to go with yours...thanks again
