G'day Gent's
Anyone out thier running Heavey Duty King Springs on a Defender TD5,
I am interested to hear your thoughts on these. Do you have the raised version or standard. If you are running Kings with raised height but standard not heavy duty would you mind placing your thoughts on these.
I am trying to decided if at this point in time I have gone to hard on the suspension

I have King raised, but not heavy duty on the rear of my 200tdi Defender. IMO they're a little too firm for what I was after, but not a lot. Certainly the Heavy Duty versions would have been way too firm my liking, and I'm not exactly unladen in the back.

do the dual 130 springs fit a 110.....?
fitting stiffer springs will reduce articulation as the springs will be too stiff to compress....
and really harsh off road....(dirt tracks)....
unless of course you carry a heavy load...then you need stiffer springs
to support the weight....

Don't know about size, but I think you need the spring hangers to fit both sets of springs.

I run Heavy Duty Raised King Springs on my Discovery 2 and i'm really happy with them on and off road. I would guess there is alot more weight in the Discovery Vs Defender so they could be overkill in direct relation to the question. My recommendation would be to run the standard for a more enjoyable ride.

I ran the +2" HD kings (and as you will see in the other thread I am no suspension expert) however I found them really harsh and I carry a fair bit of weight standard (winch, bar, roof rack, LR tank, drawers, fridge and most of the stuff I am too lazy to unload).
I am currently running the HD Tough Dogs and I also find them a bit too harsh so I will probably be going back to a progressive with air bags.
And yes my articulation suffered, they would probably be fine if you were towing but unloaded they are kidney crushing.
