Hi fellas,

Recently (I haven't finished wading thru the owners manual) purchased a '95 4.0 SE, I've got a small (I hope!) problem.

When we picked it up on Saturday it displayed the message "Remote Battery Low". No dramas I thought, I'd get new batteries on Monday.

Sunday night I pushed the remote button and nothing happened. No major worries I thought. :?

Yesterday I replaced the batteries with new ones, installed them correctly as per the owners manual and also http://www.rangerovers.net/repairdetails/b...becm/alarm.html (http://www.rangerovers.net/repairdetails/becm/alarm.html) but still no remote locking or alarm.

Sought some info from the local dealer who said it will "take a 4 hour full diagnostic check to investigate the problem". 8O Hmmm, thought I might do some more research before I take that suggestion.

Any clever ideas?

Yep, agree with 'Zook. You may need to re-synch them.

On my '95 model P38A, usually it means just locking and unlocking the car with the key.

Failure to lock/unlock with the remote isn't uncommon. At one place I work, the remote never works. There must be some interference that stops it.

Thanks Tony, Ron,

I learnt a few things yesterday.

As you say Ron, sometimes the remote works and sometimes it don't, which as you say relates to location. Another was if the remote doesn't work, DON'T :!: keep pressing the button as it's making the situation worse.

Tony, you're right about 'stealers', they will never get my business.
