Hello all. I’m nearing the end of my 2 year engine bay re- build and have a few left over brackets. The 2 Bent ones are identical and have one large hole (10mm) and one threaded hole. Can anyone remind me where they go. Thanks. Andrew

Two flat ones for adjusting firewall/door alignment.
They go between firewall and steering box bracket.and firewall and bracket on LH side.
Two bent ones go under the radiator panel.they hold the splash panel that sits between the two dumb irons.

Hmmm, I don't have the splash panel, so I don't have the bent ones on my 2a.
More interestingly though, I also didn't see the flat ones !! Are they always needed ?
Thanks

Thanks for that. I am removing the splash panel to fit a cool capstan which I got off gumtree and restored. The ones for adjusting the steering box / firewall. How do I know if I need them. I have fitted the steering box to that big solid bracket which bolts to the chassis rail and has the large hole for the steering box output spline and has 4 bolt holes. Steer Ng all see,so to work. It all just kinda bolts up in good position and gaps close. My workshop manual doesn’t talk about these adjusting shims /plates. Is there anywhere which describes fitting them and if they are required.
Thanks.

The fixed point on Series bodies is the attachment of the rear of the tub to the crossmember. This defines the position of the back of the door opening, meaning that for the doors to fit the opening the position of the firewall (bulkhead) may need to be adjusted. This is where the shims may be required.
