I had a look at a 2011 D4 SE, but the log book went like this
bought Oct 12
1st service at 30K May 13
2nd service at 50K
3rd service at 80K
4th service at 115K
then a couple more up till 170K

the car is in good condition, there is an oil leak at the back of the engine, but thats it.

Should I run?

Eeek. There are too many way over the schedule services there. A 35k one there!
I’d steer clear personally. It will have likely impacted its longevity and at 170k you might be approaching its end of life.

You can blame the scheduled servicing for that, seeing as it's 12month/30,000km.

Longest mine has been is 27,000, which was 100,000 ago...

Personally I would steer well clear unless its really cheap and you can spare 10k for repairs and service in the next year or 2.
I spent nearly 6 months looking before we found ours, right color inside and out, mods we wanted and most importantly serviced every 10,000 with only 30,000 on the clock. No way I would let a diesel go 30,000 without oil and filter

30,000km?
My book shows 24,000km and it’s a 2010?

Yes I agree it's one to steer clear of. I know "oils ain't oils" these days but I like 10K changes for the engine plus filter although I let it go to 12K the last time as we'd been off on a long run which is better than the around the houses normal stuff.
Wait for a good one with a good record by an independent or even the stealer.......

The oil leak at the back of the engine could be a split inlet manifold.

I'd tend to agree with the others, unless it is VERY cheap and you have the spare cash to take the gamble...... at $170K it's due for the major timing belt service ( $2k+ ) if it has not already been done and I'd be looking at it's second Trans service by those KM's too..... and as Graeme said.. that leak could be manifold.

30,000km?
My book shows 24,000km and it’s a 2010?
AH, true. My bad, was going by my bad memory as i've just been doing the 6 monthly's myself and 12 monthly at independant regardless of KM.
