OK. I can't get this to work. The phone just doesn't see the car at all. Looked up the the OM and followed it. Nada. What am I missing?
Samsung S7 on Android 8.0.0.

Is there a phone module fitted to the car? You have the red & green buttons on the steering wheel?

Yep. Got buttons. And it's listed in the original build sheet. Comes up in the diagnostics, too. LR list up to Android 4.4 as fully compatible. But the bluetooth protocol (I thought) is backwards compatible? I don't want to stream audio or more involved fancy stuff, just hook up the phone to make & receive calls. Phone doesn't see the car at all.

Lists up to Samsung S4. Mine's a S7.

Thanks Peter. That seems to be showing a later model - MY10+ perhaps? Problem I've got is that the phone just doesn't see the car at all. Search for nearby devices from the phone comes up empty. Got me stumped. Someone on here must have an early L320 and late Samsung...?

Best thing you can do is fit one of the last phone modules out of the 2012 L322 instead of the old junk Nokia one that's in there now.
Or go back to using an old phone...

I know nothing of whereof you speak. Is that a plug and play change or more involved? Always interested in upgrades, esp if they mean basic stuff then works.
Mate with a recent iPhone had a go today and it didn't see the car either. Perhaps the Bluetooth thingy is busted on my car?

I have a samsung S7 I can pair it with my aftermarket radio, but it won't stay paired after I switch the engine off and have to re pair every time . I think the S7s have issues when I googled.
My old motorola paired and stayed paired with my radio.

I have 2008 (and MY08) RRS TDV8 and Samsung S8 from work and it paired fine. I did it once when I got the car and it always connects for me. I recall with Bluetooth enabled on the phone I searched for LANDROVER as what to connect to on the phone and the code was 2121. I vaguely recall I did it when I initially started the car.

Sounds like the phone module in the car is stuffed then.
You can replace the original module with a newer one, the last ones from the L322 Vogue had updated software in them, seem to work fine with newer phones.
Not exactly plug & play as the power connector on the modules are different, you need to change the connector, solder a couple of wires.

Meh. Soldering a couple of power wires is still plug and play in my book. Rewiring half the car and having a million software bugs to sort out is not. Thanks for that :)

Dunno if it helps, but in the new Kenworths I set my phone to "visible" and press the phone button on the radio. Within a couple of seconds they find each other, and job's done.

OK... so this fixed itself. Everything works perfectly now, and has done for a couple of weeks. Only thing I've done is hook up the Rovacom iQ when it arrived and download the CCF and clear all codes (previously had cleared codes a few times with a Nanocom). Indie reckons the BT module is part of the audio headunit on the local stuff (not a separate module like on US/UK ones). I pulled a BT module out of a UK-delivered RRS but could not find it in mine anywhere so couldn't replace it. Only thing I can think of is there was a software glitch somewhere that was reset? Modern cars, eh?
