So time get these lights wired up and thought i would use the IPF loom that came with the lights and the mouse type switch, problem is it appears that a 3rd wire in the switch loom is for the high beam pickup and was probably taken from the near the light stalk which makes the switch cable way to short for attaching near the headlight which was my preferred location.
Relay will be mounted just in front of the battery box so power and earth points are close, i either need to extend the 3 core cable for the switch (easiest solution ) or scrap the loom and make/buy a new one.

I have exactly the same issue with the silly mouse switch. Trying to figure how to wire it via an ARB type rocker switch so will be following this with interest :-)

Cant you just run new wires from the relay ? keep the rest the same , splice in the power to the high beam at the headlight , then run power to the switch inside from the relay and use a rocker type switch.?

Cheers EanNot with this loom, the high beam pickup is in the switch cable which is 2 metres from the relay , I could probably get s new relay but then may as well not use the loom.

So the plug that goes into the back of the relay has the switch and associated wires correct ? If so remove the plug and use separate wires with insulated spade terminals on the end and all you are removing is basically the switch. Splice the feed wire into the high beam at the light and the power /switch wire out of the relay. you can use whichever type on/off switch in the cabin you like.
Unless I am looking at that diagram wrong , then my apologies

The relay isn't set up for that as it doesn't have the headlight feed on it, apart from that it would be fine . A photo would show what I mean but the diagram above is the same.

The relay doesn't need the headlight feed , the headlight feed goes direct to the switch ie the white wire in this pic . use your loom and unplug the plug from the back of the relay . Your diagrams shows 2 power wires, 1 from each spottie but they must go to 1 spade terminal in the plug that goes into the relay terminal 87 in this pic . the rest is just running wires to either the switch in the cab or from the relay . basically replacing the plug that goes into the relay in your diagram.
I just did the same thing with a light bar.

Correct so to keep the loom I have I basically need to extend the headlight feed and the switch wiring, I want to keep the mouse switch as it will mean no holes in the dash.

You could cut the wires near the mouse switch, then wire as per the diagram i supplied and splice/join the new wire you run from the hi beam on the head light to the wire on the mouse switch, run the wire from post 86 on the relay to the other wire on the mouse switch and leave the black wire on the mouse switch to earth.
This is exactly what i did with my light bar - relay post 86 to he red wire on the mouse swith, the wire from the hi beam to the yellow wire on the mouse switch , black is earth , (mainly so the light works when its on) instead of cutting the wires, I used a small screw driver and popped the wires out the back of the plug.
The only thing you need to sort is the 2 power wires coming from the spotties and if they fit into 1 spade terminal at the relay.
Doing it that way you can mount the relay near the battery and the earth posts , then its just 2 wires into the cab to the mouse switch.
