It was one of only six brought into Australia in that spec. We ended up turbocharging it and turning it into a feral wolf in sheep's clothing. We'd go hunting WRXs for a laugh. Made my hotted up XU1 look quite a bit silly... When he sold it he turned to boost way back down to only 17psi... Great memories. Anyway, well done and enjoy :)

They appear to be the 40AH deep cycle AGM batteries. If I recall correctly, the maximum 5 second burst current was 380 amps.

My uncle had a granny spec baby poo brown volve 244 that he purchased new ... when its motor wore our he shoved a range rover v8 into it .... (this would be 30years ago). So it went from a 4 cylinder slugomatic to something that near did wheel stands until he blew the diff and put something in it with a better diff ratio in there.

Its still around down in melbourne somewhere.

Good friend of mine family ( who is in high care & were cleaning out his house to sell) just dumped a heep of new old stock Volvo parts . I contacted the Brisbane Volvo Club for them 3 times with no reply in a mounth so all went to the tip. Pitty but family are all in there 70's & didn't want to be dealing with idots on Ebay & Gumtree ( DON'T BLAME THEM) There were grills , gear boxes , electric window motors & regulstors , suspension parts & test & dionostic equipment , about a 1/4 of a small skip of parts .

I drove a beige 244 once with a warm Holden 308 in it. That wasn't half bad either.... But the Rover V8, worked appropriately, would be better. Nowadays you'd just drop a Gen 3 or 4 into it. That's the default now. CRS do kits to fit that engine into just about anything, including Fords.... My Indy has a D1a with 6.0ltr Gen4 and 6-speed auto. His is quicker, but mine is cooler (so he reckons). Anyway, i feel that we've strayed somewhat from the thread topic.... :oops2:

Have a look here if you like Gen IV's and 6 speeds and LR's. You'll need a rainy day.
