Yep, after almost 15 years of owning D2’s, I’m a traitor!
With life, life changes and so, today Ken and I said good bye to our D2a’s
We’ve now upgraded to a D4.
With the travel we now undertake across this great country of ours, we just had to make a decision to a newer vehicle, mine had 459k and Kens had just shy of 300k.
Our hope is that the D4 will provide the same abilities of our faithful D2’s along with some extra creature comforts and extra towing power (MUCH more power [emoji3])
We’ve gone for a 2013 SDV6 SEwith the 8 speed box. Bull bar from Opposite Lock will be fitted 5th November and one of our existing winches (Warn K9500) will be fitted at the same time. A few other things will also be fitted at the same time such as the new beaut GME UHF, and possibly a longe range fuel tank (82 litres just doesn’t really cut it here does it?)
Anyway, I’ll be keen to relate how all things go over coming months/years.
Wish me luck guys [emoji3][emoji3][emoji3][emoji3]

80lt will get you a long way. On occasions where more range is required, 2 or 3 Jerry’s will do the job. If doing some remote touring, a rear wheel carrier for a 2nd spare might be a consideration.
