Gday there all,
just seeing if anyone can help me with a clutch problem that has started in my 6x6.
when taking off on a hill i get a bit of shudder before the big lizard takes off. Once i get going i have no issues with the clutch slipping or under load going up a hill it is only on take off. I have abjusted clutch pedal not really any noticable difference and i also took drain plug out from inbetween motor and gearbox and had about 80-100 ml of darkish oil come out.
any advice would be greatly appreciated
cheers

Welcome to the forum.

The "wading"plug in the bellhousing should have been left out to prevent the buildup of oil.

It should only be installed when actually "wading" through water of a depth which will put that plug level underwater.

Hopefully the clutch plate will gradually dry out enough to reduce the shudder. When starting off on a uphill don't increase the engine revs beyond what is required to get the vehicle moving.

You may eventually be up for a new clutch and main and/or gearbox seal and we can recommend outfits that are used to doing this.

Before all that see how you go letting it dry off a bit and reducing the startoff revs - less loud pedal.

There is a good chance you will need a complete new clutch and possibly a new flywheel. The flywheel will develop "hot spots" from shuddering over time. Best to find where the oil leak is coming from and remedy that at the same time. Have a look around at some of the threads in here and the Isuzu landy section.
