Morning All,

As the title says, I'm looking for feedback and opinions on who is the best/better company to go with for insurance ?
Any caveats with touring, 4x4, beach or personal claim accident/incident experiences.

Have 3 Defenders, but will only be doing full comprehensive insurance on two of them, a Puma and a TDI 130.

Feedback and opinions appreciated.

Cheers

I’ve got Shannons insurance and they have been great. Recovered the 130 from Kalumburu to Melbourne after I smashed the Sailsbury diff housing on a rock. They covered the cost of recovery and the new diff housing! Will be staying with them

That’s excellent service from Shannon’s! So they fully covered recovery? Is that a special policy?

I’m currently giving Club4x4 a go. No claims yet so can’t teport. But their price including remote recovery was good.

We have several insurances on RACQ for a package deal and they have been fine.
A relation went to Club 4 x 4 because they offer some remote extras, but they are expensive.
Youi were the cheapest for individual online quotes last time I did that exercise, but you have to answer lots of questions to convince them the vehicles won't get as much usage as normal and so get a discount.

Trouble with RACQi is that without a vehicle valuation from a valuer they dont do genuine agreed value much above Redbook or Glasses Guide. For vehicles with a lot of add ons I recommend Shannons. Changed to them with my D2 after 17 years with RACQi.

No special policy, it’s just part of their cover.

I went to Shannons for my 2013 Puma. CGU (who have always been really good) and one other who I cant recall wouldn't insure for an agreed value. They'd only come at $35k.

I ended up going to the local Landrover Dealer who gave me a quote on a letter head for the current market value ($5k over what I paid for it interestingly enough) and asked me to go to them if I ever wanted to sell it.

We ended up insuring our Subaru Forester and got a better price than through the current insurer too.
