New computer and Thunderbird

Installed Thunderbird on my new computer. Program will not accept my existing login or password. What am I doing wrong?

I gave up on thunderbird - would not work as it installed all my Windows Folders as the Thunderbird Folders - just got too hard in the end so I gave up.

Check the "Account Settings". Chances are you have the wrong provider, username or type of account there. Particularly the "Server Settings" and the "Outgoing Server". No mail program is trivial to setup.
