Hi All,
As I still have a CD 400 (poverty Spec) in the garage, I'm going to get bluetooth streaming working, to show how it can be done, with an el cheapo ebay bluetooth module.
I don't have a Discovery 3 anymore. Does anyone have a steering wheel or the RH side audio control buttons, as I think I can get them to work with the bluetooth module, just need a set to play with.
Thanks
RR

I used to do the same thing, except with an expensive parrot system, 9100 which everyone complained about call quality with. What I'm trying to do this time is to get bluetooth streaming working using the audio buttons and one of these. Bonus points if I can get the calls working...https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/0GoAAOSwlMRa2IO3/s-l1600.jpg

I bought a$50 bluetooth unit (switchable from receiver to transmitter) from Jaycar electronics. Plugs into the aux input jack in the car. Phone picks this up and I can now stream music via bluetooth . Calls as well afaik.
If you are just after bluetooth phone calls, they also have these for about 25 bucks

I've got a couple of steering wheel switch packs here, the ones without the phone buttons, if you want one, you can have one.

That would be great! I don't need to keep them, just to read the resistance and voltage value when a button is pressed.
PM Sent. Thanks

The pic above isn't from Jaycar or ebay, just a chinese site i found.
I should add that you need to have added an aux. input to the stereo if yours doesn't have one already.

Across pins 2 & 3 in Ohms:
No Buttons pressed = 30.67KΩ
|<< = 2.052KΩ
>>|= 3.067KΩ
Vol+ = 4.606KΩ
Vol- = 336.7Ω
Mode = 1.318KΩ

If you don't plan on fitting the switch panel i'll take it off your hands when you're done.

Hi All,
I've made some good progress with this.
The device accepts the steering wheel controls and changes tracks.
It works by the arduino reading the steering wheel controls then activating the next prev track switches & Play/Pause on the module.
I've also designed a pcb to make it a neater solution than my prototype.
So it's met my basic goals, this is V1 then.

New goals for V2:
Make it read the front buttons on the head uint.
Make the mic work
Use the mute function to make calls

If anyone wants to make this for their CD400 details are here.
GitHub - RangeyRover/Bluetooth-Streaming-Analogue-Controls: Bluetooth streaming module developed for a Land Rover CD400 for a Discovery 3. Will work with any Car Stereo with analogue steering controls (Resistive) where the ADC supply is not above 5V (https://github.com/RangeyRover/Bluetooth-Streaming-Analogue-Controls)
