For those of you with an IIDTool and used it on a D4 before, it works fine on a D5. At present only the basic functionality is there (fault reading, clearing etc). It can't do CCF changes yet.

If you are the registered owner of an IIDTool you can transfer your license to a new VIN, so if you no longer need it for your old car send GAP an email and they will help you out. There's no cost involved in transferring the license to a new VIN (I do believe there is a charge for transferring ownership of the IIDTool and then changing the VIN).

Excuse my ignorance, but what are CCF changes?

Sorry, Car Configuration File changes. The "win.ini" file for the car.

Thanks and what sort of things can you change?

It's hard to say without being able to look at the D5 CCF, but going by my D4 I enabled "global closing" (far more useful than global opening) of windows, I enabled Daylight Running lights. The Police lights setting didn't work though :)

From the Gap Diagnostics website.

"Functionality coverage for 2017 and up L405, L494 and L462 platforms is limited. Car Configuration File editing and ECU Flash are not supported at the current time."

My 2014 L494 has limited CCF editing compared to the D4 I had previously.
