Just spotted the Mobil 1 Synthetic ad on TV...three white discos driven by american accents and no oil changes in sight as they drive around the world 8O :roll:

Good Add but I still change oil every 10,000Km.

I used to run Mobil 1 in an old 308 Holden V8 and it took a flogging I could not break the motor no how hard I pushed the limits.

I saw one of the Discos a week or so back on the corner of Boronia Road and Mountain Hwy (for those in Vic and know where that is). About 8.30 am.

aah, but Mobil market a whole range of lubricants under the Mobil 1 banner, and a few of them aren't available here.

Engine oils include these viscocities,
0W-20
5W-20 (5W-20 is used in, and the only recommended grade in Ford, Honda and Toyota engines in the US !)
0W-30
5W-30
10W-30
0W-40
5W-50
15W-50
5W-40 Turbo diesel
5W-30 Truck & SUV

Mobil 1 Extended Performance
5W-30
10W-30
15W-50

Mobil 1R (racing)
various viscosities)

Mobil 1 gear oils

Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF

and probably some others I don't know about.
Then you have their range of Delvac 1 (diesel) products.....;)

Then Mobil needs to add Mobil 1 coolant and Mobil 1 windscreen bug remover to its armory of total vehicle protection systems.

But they only have 30 seconds on TV to sell it all

and no, I don't use any Mobil 1 product (although I once did)
but do use Delvac 1 in the engines ;)

Castrol and Redline are used in the geary bits.

Holden and Mobil 1 are doing a similar trial here in Aus by driving a HSV Maloo ute around Australia without changing the oil. Somewhere along the line Mark Skaife is going to use it to break the Ute Land Speed record. Some other poor sap has to drive it the rest of the way. Matt

Dont know mate, i dont even know if it is being made up on a DVD i think they are just doing the test to show how good the oil is. Matt
