the enterprise versions do. but many of the standard grade ones are not at all keen on it...

Interesting, only ever setup enterprise ones and never raid 0.

Those Samsungs go OK, were using them as a much cheaper alternative to "enterprise" SSDs. Buy the server with spinning rust and retrofit the Samsungs to the drive caddies.
We are running them as JBODS with VMware vSan across them and they have been going well.
