Given the way rosters are worked out for aircrew, to eke the most work out of their duty times, this is a lot more common than you think!

Yep. Not unusual for domestic crew to be rostered over 12 hours duty for several days at a time. Throw in crappy, noisy hotels for accommodation between duties, and you get the picture.....

In a short flight like that, in , I guess a small aircraft, I assume there is no co-pilot? It would make for some nervous passengers.

The Chieftain is a single pilot plane, Bob.
I flew a Chieftain occasionally many years ago. How one could sleep in one of those is beyond me. Noisy as hell.
It also must be one of the few Chieftains in Australia with a serviceable autopilot [emoji23]
