I’ve got a new key plip and I’m having trouble working out how to program it. I’ve tried entering 1 of the barcodes in the barcode box, no luck so I tried the 2nd barcode. Also no luck.

I’m having trouble finding out how to do this. I’d really appreciate some help with this 1.

Is it new, or second hand?
With the little bit of dirt on the fob, it looks S/H.

I was under the impression that once a key has been synced to an ECU(BCU!) it's done and dusted .. can't then be reprogrammed to work on another car.

Hence, why I ask if new or used.

A second hand key will definitely work if you have the code.
I think the code you need in in that tag somewhere, but not sure which part.

2nd hand key should work. The key is only a transmitter not a receiver so it shouldn’t know which BCU it was previously paired with.

The process is the same as programming a key. For the number I seem to recall if you pop the case open there will be a number on the circuit board which you can enter in box on the first screen. One of the numbers on the tag will include it.

I’ll try and find that tag that came with my plip and see what part of the number matches. May be a few days or so.

Cheers

I did open the case. I’ll have another look

I had/have about 4 or 5 S/H keys(for 2 D2s), haven't had any luck programming any of them for 'another' D2 .. that is, the ones coded for one of the D2s(2 V8s and 1 TD5) would never work no matter how many times we tried to sync it to another of the D2s.

brother has the TD5, I have my V8s(1 parts car, and my project build).

In the end, both brother and myself just bought cheapies($100 or less) off ebay and they synced up immediately.

Hi

i scored a win and was able to find my plip bar code tag easily and compare it to My nanocom key screen.

The code you need to enter in the first screen is the 6 digits from the top barcode after the *L. In your case the number should be BEA112.

For programming the plip I followed the nanocom video. Watch closely as it’s a bit fiddly. I don’t recall seeing or using the suspension bar code Entry screen at the time, but I did mine 5 years ago so I could be wrong. I do recall it took a few goes to get it to hook up

I’m hoping that my experience isn’t like yours!

Thanks Steve. I’ll try that tomorrow.

Problem is officially solved! I followed the YouTube video and used code: BEA112. I had no problems programming the plip to the BCU at all. It’s a great feature - now the ‘less talk members of our family’ can access the back better. I’ve got draws so it’s harder to reach the fridge, etc.

Thanks for your help everyone
