I'm ready to have the tanks fabbed for my motorhome, and need to decide on size. How much water, per person, per day, including consumption, cooking, cleaning, showering and toilet flushing? I am considering flushing with grey water.

My old girl l had two 200lt tanks in the rear, but I was going to up it to 1000lts as a main tank in front of a he rear wheels and have the 400 still in the rear. Grey water and Black water are a bit different, but I thought about having a couple hole of grey tanks that could bbe emptied on the run. Blacks got its own little tank.

I'm thinking 2.2 wide X .8 high X .5 long. This gives a capacity of 880 litres. The height and width are pretty much non-negotiable. I chose this shape to minimise sloshing. I think it will benefit from a couple of baffles with half inch holes, one top and bottom of each baffle.
Grey and black tanks, i was thinking 300-400 litres each.

800L of water needs 800L of storage for after,,,
but it wont be even between grey and black, while I have my own ideas, common sense tells us the black water tank will not need to be anywhere near the grey, even allowing for the paperwork,,
Have you thought on sight gauges yet?
All those drainage hoses will need drainage areas...
are we treating our black water?
the only trouble with a large blackwater tank is the amount of startup water you need.

and with 800L of water on board i would flush with it[wink11]

Bear in mind abolitions can often be completed away from the vehicle.

What can be added to the black tank to get most enjoyment from the discharge experience ?

There is absolutely no reason to go anywhere if you set this up right.
The whole idea of a BUS is there is no need to go outside.

Fuel Food and new oxygen is the only reason to open the doors,,

3Kva I reckon.. [wink11]

On a serious note, Thetford have fairly good products, but I’m not sure any “really” take away, or perhaps even dispell the afterglow when emptying.
Even our 20lt cassette can be a hassle. Mine was originally going to have the cassette toilet with a couple of spare cassettes, that way you can swap them over and then empty them when you hit town.

You can get little blue baggies that you put in the dunny after you have emptied it so that it doesn't smell anywhere near as bad or there are bottles of liquid stuff you can use for the job.
I highly recommend using these as it makes a very unpleasant job not too bad at all.[thumbsupbig]
