The Weather Station on the roof of the Roadhouse was telling me it was 46.2 degrees half an hour ago.
It has now cooled down to a balmy 44.9.
I'm so glad Summer has finally arrived!

We had 44C on Saturday, you deserve better than that.[bighmmm]

I don't know how anybody could have lived here before air conditioners?
I had to run sprinklers on the A/C's at the Roadhouse today to try & cool the inside.
They weren't working real well once the sun got on them.
I guess everything is relative, we think 35 is a nice day.

I used to regularly work in temps in the mid and high 40s, whilst in the Pilbara. Away from the coast it was quite pleasant, but, on the coast the humidity could be stifling, even at 35C.

Up in the gulf you get the double whammy with 40c+ temps and steamy humidity as well.[wink11]

I see 3000 bats died from heat stress near Cairns the other day, so that's a good guide to how hot it is.
You should be sprinkling your solar panels to cool then down to the optimum 26 degrees, so they are more efficient.

I don't spend my day staring at our Weather Station but I glanced at it at about 2:30 this arvo & it was 47.7 yet it didn't seem as hot as yesterday.
One plus is all the King Parrots are here playing & cooling off in the sprinklers, we had a dozen or so in the back yard, good looking bird.

Hey Jonesfam, I just checked out Doomadgee on the aerial map, haven't been across your way yet ...the Nicholson looks like a beautiful river. Is it swimmable or too many crocs?

I've spent a lot of time in the territory and northern WA, so know those temps! I miss it actually, I've been down south for too long! Might have to come for a visit [thumbsupbig] ...time for a siesta when it hits 50C

Cheers
