And that didn’t fill the stadium.......good call CA

First Day one of 1st Test I have missed for a few years.

Although looked like a cracking day of cricket.

An amazing run out in there! Hopefully they can perform with the bat as well.

Yeah, was a good days Cricket. I listened to most of the days play in the car as I was on the road a lot - will be today as well so see how the Aussies bat. Similar conditions - very hot forecast, but the wicket should have calmed down a bit now - hopefully there’s some good runs on offer.

Yep, some of the fielding was brilliant - that catch of Khawaja’s to take out Kholi was sensational.

Well, can’t see Australia saving this one. After a frustrating start against the DRS Lyon had a ripper day, but too many runs had already been scored. Our batting will be the ongoing issue this Summer...

Agree, weakest batting lineup for a while.
I think we can take the 20 wickets just getting the runs on the board is the issue...

Yep - can’t see the Aussies saving this one. I don’t know why our batsmen can’t learn to be patient - there was plenty of time and overs to get the runs.. I know that it was always unlikely but now... Oh well

They’re all too set in the hit and giggle 20/20 bull**** ways to remember how to play test cricket...

The women's cricket was entertaining.

Not sure 20/20 is hit and giggle....it’s where all the money is and taken very seriously theses day

1st will make five days which surprised me, means there has been some good cricket play on both sides. Just what test match cricket needs. I don’t mind who wins so long as there is good cricket over five days.

I was away camping otherwise I would have watched nearly every ball.

Agreed, it’s been a good match. As for 20/20, we can agree to disagree. It might make the money, doesn’t mean it has to be everyone’s cup of tea. It’s light entertainment for the masses - hit and giggle.

I like watching the Women play - but again, test match cricket or at least a one dayer - again, the hit and giggle is not for me.

Is North Sydney Oval undersize?
'cos the girls where hitting it out of the park easily the other day....
some of the boys find it hard to hit it out of the circle...

49 left with 1 wicket. Can't help but think if the top order had done a bit more rather than leaning on the bottom end so much we might have got this across the line.... Fingers crossed...

Well it's all over... I have to say - it was closer than I thought that it would be..

India should be thinking "wow - we got away with that"

Australia should be thinking "we just need our top order to fire, and we could have won that easily..."

wonder if the acb is going to give marsh another opportunity to show he's the batsman they claim him to be.

there's a few youngsters out there I'd give a go.

the australian cricket team is still trying to get on its feet again so who cares if they use India as their test mule. good opportunity while they are home to test a few players out.

dont expect hit and giggle players to play tests and vice versa

Khawaja needed to stand up.
One good innings was the difference.

Still a good test match.

31 runs between the teams tells me it was a good test match, exactly what the sport needed.

If the aussies can stay competitive than I’ll be happy with that.....

India would be thinking **** that was close.

It’ll be a walk in the park for the Aussies in Perth.
The third test will be interesting though.

Not turning out to be a walk in the park after all.
I find it hilarious some Australian commentators are complaining about Indian sledging!!!!!!!!!! [biggrin] They are also complaining that India celebrate too much after gaining a wicket, for the last 25 years the Australian cricket team have been the absolute masters of sledging and over the top abusive wicket celebrations. Commentators were not critical when the shoe was on the other foot.
I have long thought cricket is only a game and Australia didn't play in the spirit of the game, it was just bad behavior. We as a nation cannot now complain of others doing the same because of the example (Some haven't stooped low, Adam Gilchrist one example) set by Australian's over last 25 years.
Chickens coming home to roost seems an appropriate phrase. [bigsmile]

Gotta agree.....but I don’t reckon any of the player will will complain, whether they were part of the era or not they just need to suck it up. Good to see Paine giving some back.

It’s would be he best thing for test match cricket of Australia can somehow squeeze a win out of this test..... one all going into Boxing Day would make it a cracking leadup.

I'm forced to sit on the lounge and watch the cricket after splitting my toe - life is tough!
It's a good game. Enjoying it.
Notice how 7 is using female commentators, which never happened on 9, which was a boy's club. They're good too - entertaining.

Yeah...no way you could do the dishes or anything with an injury like that! [bigwhistle]

The commentary is definitely better, more diverse, more informative. They just need to dump that nong - Brayshaw.

Not sure why they’re calling the polite little audience a crowd though? Clearly everyone is watching it on TV! Or maybe hardly anyone watching?
I’m enjoying catching glimpses of the tussle...when I’m not working ...or doing the dishes 😜

Hope it’s on the mend. [emoji106]Very sore actually. Can't blame anyone else, it was all my own fault while moving something heavy and wearing thongs, not boots.

Raining here, so the erection of our shed is delayed, so perfect excuse to watch the cricket.

Excellent cricket. Starc hit 150 km/h, Lyon was clever, and it's a good contest. Aussies likely to win now, so one-all coming up I hope.
