The J.D. Power 2018 US Initial Quality Study ranks Range Rover last. Last has been a consistent rating for the Tata Motors subsidiary.

Mr DeMuro is actually a LR fan,, hard to believe, but doing stuff like that is how he earns a living.

My dealership experience has been fantastic over the last eight years - not one thing to complain about with their level of service and the car has been flawless.

I can't understand how Land Rover, the manufacturer, allows poor dealers to sell and service their products - that's where their reputation is either made or broken. You could have a customer with a virtual lemon but if handled well by the dealer, that customer can still be made happy.

The only thing I would comment on from my own experience is that since the Velar/D5 has been released the servicing cost has skyrocketed. I was flabbergasted when they said new pads all 'round was going to cost $1K and if I needed rotors too it would be another $1K. They were equally surprised when I told them the fronts had been on the car since new @94K Km (rear pads were done @ 50K Km). I asked how long they typically last, the answer was 30-50K KM. Bugger that, I took it to an independent who charged 50% of the dealer price for new pads and rotors. Funny thing was, two of the guys at the independent I already knew reasonably well from the dealership - good blokes who know their stuff.

Guess where my servicing is done now.

I have purchased rotors and Pads from these guys Land Rover Parts | Range Rover Parts | New & Refurbished Parts | TR Spares (https://trspares.com.au/) very cheap. I don't run the OME pads now use Red Stuff. My dealer was happy to fit the gear I supplied for a very reasonable price so for my car fitting $180 and I think the parts cost less than $500.

As SBD4 has said,LR dealers are,from my experience,absolutely disgraceful,hence my LR goes to an Indie.

Workmanship from the indie is at least twice as good,and costs around half the price of the stealers.

As a comparison,our tojo vans go to the local dealer,no issues in 10yrs,and reasonable prices,actually similar prices to my LR Indie.
