Best option I've seen is a buttweld pipe cap.
Cost about $45, 250mm 8mm thick. Cut the front of your housing off then weld this baby on. More oil capacity as well.
If you have the skills, this is an awesome option.

you've obviously never had a Dana diffed 4x 'Zook. Lemme see.
A Salisbury on a Series/110/'fender is a UK made Dana 60. A Dana 44 and 30 are just smaller versions of that.
