Today my side stand on the ol trumpy broke. I thought it was cast, but a bit of a search suggests that it might be forged steel. Can I as a home welder, weld that up with my mig or stick welders?

Forged should be straight forward to weld.....be easier than cast

easy to tell if its forged or cast with the spark test from a grinder wheel , generally bright sparks = forged , dull = cast
