Well so much for the new Curator sorting the MCG's ****ty wicket out...
Would be ok if it was a good batting wicket but it's good for nothing. I love test cricket but even this is trying my patience...
Wouldn't have thought it would be that hard to be honest - surely someone can tip a couple of buckets of water around the crease at night to make things interesting... [emoji6]

The MCG should never have given in to AFL..
Drop in pitches must be a nightmare to manage.

Would Lyon juggling the ball like a soccer ball be classed as ball tampering??
I’ve notice him do it at least twice maybe 3 times.

100% with you here. I ended up doing 3 hours on the ride on due to a lack of anything to do with decent test cricket. Switched to SA vs Pak at night.

More than a bit! I would love to see a couple of the batsman dig in and not give their wickets away. Fingers crossed...

We are up against the No. 1 with a pretty good bowling outfits.......based on this one does question some of the shot selection

Yes, the Indian attack is tight but a couple of stupid wickets too IMO.

So, will India enforce the follow on? I would but it seems to be a bit of an old fashioned tactic these days.

Because cricket tragics think the world shares their interest and they try to force that interest on others - is a general statement not necessarily referring to people in this thread.
You are in a lift with someone you have never met or seen before and they seem to think every one shares their interest in cricket and get miffed when you draw the discussion to a halt with a "who cares".
It is a forum - you have to be prepared for discussion and responses you don't agree with. [smilebigeye]

I would force the follow on, and be home in bed tonight with 2 days extra rest... [emoji6]

Didn't see anyone forcing their opinions on anyone - it's a thread like any other here - or do you think every thread here is forcing their interest or opinions on you? I don't care if you like cricket or not, I never asked you to join the conversation or forces anyone to, so your point is moot IMO.
So c'mon Garry, get with the program and enjoy the cricket! It's un australian not too!!! [emoji38][emoji38][emoji38]

...hmmm...both Marshes gone cheaply , but being paid millionaire wages to fail.
There are a hundred keen younger shield and club batsmen who could have done a better job.....selectors? What excuse can we use now?
Bring back our good batsmen, forget the ball tampering....every country has been caught ball tampering...over it.
Maybe let our bowlers open the batting...they've got more ticker.

My wife & I have enjoyed the current Test Series, particularly the spirit in which the games have been played, and we like Tim Paine from what we've seen of him. Big fans of Starc too.
However, we feel that the commentators have not been in the same class as Richie, Bill, Tony & Ian.

What a strange turn around. Still can’t see a win for the Aussies here, but an interesting afternoon none the less.

5 for 44,...How good is this. Go Aussie go.
Don't care who wins, this is what Cricket is all about,....played in excellent spirit, no aggro, no fisting, no "sending off", just good hard cricket played in the true spirit of the game.
Gotta love Starcy, whilst the game may appear to be lost, steaming in at 140k+......LOVE IT.

Agreed, this whole series has been played with very good sportsmanship. Glad to see this test finally show a bit of action after the dead wicket of the first 2 days. Look forward to seeing where it goes tomorrow. 👍

The aussies should not have taken wickets today.....they need to keep the Indians out there for a long as as can.

The only question left is how long does Kohli think he needs to get another ten wickets....
Homestar
29th December 2018, 07:26 AM
If they don't run out of wickets, lunch today would be more than enough time I would think. As much as I'd love to see the Aussies come out and make a few hundred to make the end interesting I have my doubts.

Well it looks like they'll all get a day off tomorrow at this rate. So what are the take away where? I'm not ready to crucify anyone to be honest, but again the batting is causing grief IMO.
On paper you'd like to think they will settle down and score some runs - I hope they do.
I'll reserve judgement and store the pitch forks until after Sydney...

sigh,, this team suffers from a Time/exponentiol problem,, the more we play T20,, the less we have TEST batsman,,, as already commented on, we have only ONE test batsman with a "good" average,, just think back a few years and how many had First Class averages OVER 50... ?? The first 4 ALWAYS had that average,,, always.
