As per this thread,
https://www.aulro.com/afvb/general-chat/266556-looking-backyard-mechanic-engine-change-northern-rivers-nsw.html

I need to reinstall this 300 tdi engine for another forum member.
Problem is the vehicle is on gravel not concrete, so therefore I need to pull/push the D1 towards the engine crane to get the engine in.
It doesn't need to move far, only maybe 2 meters.
If anyone is local to Byron Bay is able to lend a hand from 8am to 10am saturday 5th january it would be appreciated.
Once the engine is in the engine bay, I will have it under control.

Cheers,
Tony

I had this problem too. I used a large breaker bar on the wheel nuts to move the disco. Not that hard. I also used a ratchet strap to hold the gear box up (around the chassis rails and under the box) worked a treat.

Good luck.

Tom.

Looks like this is sorted.
I have received an offer of assistance via PM.
