Hi guys,
Are there any options for high lift jacking points/accessories out there for a D3 with no rock sliders and standard front and rear bars?

No, nothing that will reach the chassis.

You can get hooks that attach to the spokes of your rims.

I did consider getting some with our D4, but I ran out of mounting space on the roof rack for the high lift jack and it turns out we have one of those exhaust jacks which takes up heaps less space and weighs a ton less..

And you run the risk of damaging your wheel arches with the jack.
There are better options to a hi lift jack for the D3 - like normal hydraulic jacks.

Just a suggestion.. and nothing a cut pool noodle couldn't help prevent.
They wouldn't have worked with our standard wheels anyway. The spoke is too thick for the hook. TuffAnts fine.

I purchased something a few years ago which consisted of a cast plate with 2x holes that was held in place by 2x wheel studs & nuts that had a cast angle protruding outwards that the jack fitted under & you jacked that.
If memory serves it was made in SA out Modbury/NE way. I don't recall the name but it could be stamped upon it.
another is a piece of kit that bolts onto one wheel stud and braces up against the wheel to allow you to use a Hi-Lift Jack to lift that one wheel

Saw that antique one & it looks like it could have been their prototype or a homemade job.[biggrin] My one has extra bolts & do dads. Probably Mk 10, truth be known.
My Hy-lift without the above, is mainly used for extracting Star Pickets after wrapping a short chain around said picket ( ? picquet) holding it in with a bolt through the picket. Then Jack away. It easily comes out vertically without breaking one's back or being bent.
Such a clumsy piece of gear. The bugger nearly brained me years ago as the handle just whizzed past my ear & side glanced me on the bonce when I was using it on the S2A front bumper. Another 2" & I would have been history or had permanent brain damage.
I heard that![smilebigeye]

Mine is in the shed 20 years on.
Only used around the yard.
I might have missed the way these hooks work...
So you have a flat tyre and attach the hooks to the wheel- jack it up- then what?
How do you get the wheel off?
If you’re using it on uneven ground for bogged or wheel “packing”
There’s a better than average chance of panel damage.

There’s a better than average chance of panel damage.I'm pretty sure the idea is to lift the wheel out of a bogged situation.
That's all I would have used it for.
Thinking about this thread over the last few hours, I couldn't really see a need for a high lift on these vehicles. They could potentially lift themselves high enough to clear the body from a bogging. If that wasn't enough I'm sure your a bit more stuck than a high lift could help with.
No way in hell would I use one to change a tyre on any vehicle!
Il admit I haven't had a ton of experience with our D4 in different recovery situations, but the ones I have- I lifted it as high as possible, cleared a path in front and behind the wheels and then drove out.

You use a high lift on a wheel so you can lift it out of the rut and pack it which gets you the body life you can get by simply pressing up on the suspension button on a D.
