Seeking Clues: Non-Connected two conductor wiring connector

Came across the pictured 2-wire plug connector alongside my battery tray whilst changing out my battery and have no "clue" of its purpose nor did I find its mate. Anyone here know its purpose ('16 Discovery/LR 4)

It is for the diesel powered heater that is used in Europe and not required in Australia. It does not plug into anything on our Australian cars.
