Hi all
I have two complete front diff assemblies, one out of 87 county and one from a 97 defender.
I also have a 24 spline front diff lock.
My question is, can I pull the 10 spline center out of the county housing and fit the diff lock to that diff center and then fit it to the defender housing.
So that would leave me a spare 24 spline center.
Hope that makes sense.

You need to supply more details. What brand and model diff lock?

As a minimum you would need to purchase aftermarket 24/23 spline halfshafts.

The stock 10 and 24 spline diffs are garbage and best used as paperweights.

Hi
It's a arb rd128 24 spline
Just trying to clarify that it will fit into a 10 spline housing and use the 10 spline crown and pinion gears.
looks to be the same.

Dont see why it wont.
I bought an Ashcroft ATB its 24 spline so I took out the 10 spline centre of the diff and bolted the ATB to the 10 spline crownwheel.
Then assembled it back into the housing and reset the backlash. The pinion and crownwheel belong to each other so it wasnt a problem.
Just got new 24 spline axles made by Barry .
