Hi guys

First of all, glad to join this forum.

I’m a new owner to this forum, I had a 2013 Freelander in the past then moved to discovery 5. Mostly talking kids around Melbourne metro

As we often go touring and rifle shooting (not hunting, can’t kill things lol) we will do somr light off road, mostly grass and sandy roads. Do we need to switch to AT tyres? Are they noise? The standard tyre is 21 inch road tyre. Is it okay for our need?

Please advise

Welcome to the forum!

As for your tyres, on sandy tracks you may find that road biased tyres are better. In grass maybe not so but if I were you, give it a go and you might be pleasantly surprised how easy the car will go over that terrain anyway, AT tyres or not.

Thx Ron

I’m more worried abt the side of the rim. It seems kinda low profile

Haha, how much damage would you think grass does to a rim? If on (sandy) tracks, lower your tyre pressures a bit to avoid damage to tyre and rim. But you're right, 18" wheels would be way better. I'm happy to take mine on 20" with standard rubber on bush tracks.
