Found this in a box of bits from a trash & treasure market.
Squeeze handle and the silver part moves towards a split collar. Looks quite new, maybe an electrical crimp tool or assembly tool of some sort ?

looks like a fiber optic connector setting tool to me.

Agree with Dave - looks like an optic fibre end trimmer for joining optics fibre.  Would be able to tell if I could see them first hand.

Its an RG6 compression tool,  have one very similar from my Telecom days , I never worked on optic.

they look almost identical. the main differences being in the size of the jaws and the cable holder.

Some of them have an interchangeable jaw set and can be used for other crimps.

I'm actually in need of an RG6 crimper, replacing all my antenna cabling and adding new points in the house.

Unfortunately it's gone to a colleague who is fixing some electrical equipment for me.
They were cheap on Ebay
